Bristol Royal Infirmary, corridor artwork, 2007

Stencilled birds on the walls of the main corridor of the BRI hospital in Bristol. Each photo only a shows a small part of the whole work. As well as being decorative, the seagull-images function as a route-marker so that visitors can find their way out of the building.
Images of seagulls and balloons were chosen in order to bring a sense of air and nature into this long windowless corridor. There are over 100 seagulls in all, plus a few hot-air balloons, all created by splattering paint through stencils.

Created in collaboration with Claire Caliscione.
