This mural in the school canteen was designed by a small group of year-6 children. The whole school voted for the best of seven designs drawn by different groups of children, and this was the winning design. Bill then met with the winning designers to agree on how the design should be translated from their drawing into paint (eg. the choice of blue for the background, and how each feature should look). Bill suggested that the children themselves should paint the figures round the Earth. He also suggested that a satellite be added to rather empty central space. Both were agreed to by the design group.
